[ONGOING] [Snowflake] Service Disruption in AWS Europe (Ireland) Affecting Data Loading and Console
Last updated: October 21, 2026
[21-October-2026]
Update (21 October 2026, 20:00 UTC): Snowflake is experiencing an ongoing service disruption in its AWS Europe (Ireland) region, tracked by Snowflake as incident INC20000301. Snowflake is still investigating the root cause and has not yet provided an ETA for resolution. Our team is actively monitoring the situation and will post updates here as we learn more.
Current Status: Investigating (third-party provider incident)
Update (21 October 2026, 22:00 UTC): Snowflake reports service recovery with an approximate ETA of 1h. Our loaders are still unable to connect.
Current Status: Waiting for Resolution.
What is affected
1. Data loading into Snowflake (customers with a Snowflake warehouse in AWS Europe, Ireland)
Starting at approximately 17:50 UTC, Snowflake Loaders writing to Snowflake accounts hosted in AWS Europe (Ireland) began failing to connect and load data. If your Snowflake destination is in this region, you may notice:
New events not appearing in your atomic events table
Increased loading latency for your Snowflake destination
Downstream data models and scheduled jobs that depend on fresh data running late or failing
Event collection and enrichment in your pipeline continue to run as normal. Events are being retained in your pipeline while the Snowflake destination is unavailable, and loading will resume and catch up automatically once Snowflake service is restored.
2. Snowplow Console views that display warehouse-sourced data (all customers)
Some areas of Snowplow Console rely on data served from Snowflake infrastructure in the affected region. As a result, customers in any region may see timeouts, slow page loads, or 403 errors in parts of Console, for example Event Volumes in Tracking Plans and some homepage widgets. Core pipeline operations are not affected by this Console issue.
What is not affected
Event collection and enrichment
Loaders writing to other warehouses (BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, and others) or to Snowflake accounts in other regions
Do I need to take any action?
No action is required from you on the Snowplow side. Once Snowflake recovers, loading will resume without intervention and Console views should return to normal.
We do recommend:
Holding off on re-running data models until loading has caught up, so they process a complete set of events.
Reviewing Snowflake's guidance if you use Snowflake replication. Snowflake advises customers with replication configured to review their failover procedures and decide whether failover is appropriate for their organization.
