Tracking an IP address

A user's IP address is one of the identifiers collected when implementing a tracker in a browser or a device. The value is stored in the user_ipaddress property in the atomic events table.

Both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are supported as long as a domain is compatible with the IPv6 network.

In case there is a requirement to anonymise an IP address (e.g. due to certain restrictions or compliance policies), the IP anonymization enrichment can be enabled to redact part of the IP address.
