[30-Jan-2025]
You might have noticed that http://iglucentral.com — the public schema repository that contains common Snowplow schemas — is available via HTTP but not HTTPS.
To improve the security and availability of our pipelines, we will migrate Iglu Central to a CDN (Content Delivery Network) and enable HTTPS in addition to HTTP. We will make this change on Monday, February 3rd, 2025.
If you are not using Snowplow BDP, please make sure to update your deployments and tooling to use https://iglucentral.com to take advantage of this feature once it’s available. For Snowplow BDP, we will apply these changes automatically.
In one year, on February 3rd, 2026, we will disable HTTP. Iglu Central will become an HTTPS-only service. (There will be another reminder.)
IMPORTANT: Please note that the URL of the metaschema ("$schema": "http://iglucentral...
) should not be changed in your schemas. This is a hardcoded value, and using https
in it is not supported. In any case, this particular URL is never actually resolved by Iglu clients, so our plan to disable HTTP has no impact on it.
