How to manage GitHub user access

This article describes a feature or service available to Snowplow BDP customers.

Your Snowplow GitHub repositories are hosted within our snowplow-proservices organization. Our team are available to add and remove users to your repositories as needed.

Available groups and roles

Users can be added to read or write groups either as maintainers or members.

By having a user added as a maintainer this allows them to partially manage the repository to add and remove users that already exist in the Snowplow proservices organization to your teams.

Adding & removing users

As GitHub requires the people adding and removing users to be organization owners, any new users must be added by our team. You can request users to be added to your GitHub repositories at any time by:

  1. Click the Submit a request button in the top right-hand corner of the Help Center
  2. Set an appropriate subject line.
  3. In the description:
    • Provide a list of the GitHub usernames you want added
    • Let us know the group (read/write) and role (member/maintainer) for each user
